ANKA

About:

Anka is a beautiful girl who could use a foster or foster to adopt home. Anka is a little over two years old. She is very smart but nervous about doing the right thing. She does well with people, better with women. She is hand shy so needs to learn people are gentle and good. She LOVES food and treats. She knows sit and down and come. She gets along with dogs but is better with slow intros to people and to dogs. She wants to play with other dogs but has to learn how. Essentially Anka needs manners and skills Anka is in foster and is undergoing heartworm treatment so needs her calm time. She is a very sweet dog for the knowledgeable shepherd owner.  Anka has made amazing strides.  She still loves women best.  She has been through heartworm treatment.  She loves to fetch and has learned to release her toy.  I reached up with a piece of wood to knock down an icicle and she ran and yelped. It broke my heart to see that.   Clearly, she had not had a good past.  She had been a stray so we will never know what or who was involved.  She is very smart, very sensitive and treat motivated.  She has ears like radar nd very protective of her home.  She deserves a chance at a good life.
